Visit to Restaurant Essort in Bern

From the outside, the Essort building is unremarkable. However, inside, the restaurant presents a modern style with wooden floors and tables.
At lunchtime, Essort serves a set menu or a business lunch (3 to 5 courses). The evening selection is similarly – intentionally – limited, offering a 3 to 6-course menu. We visited for the business lunch.
We were first served crispy fried quail on pea puree, with the quail being particularly flavorful. This was followed by a very tasty flank steak with a dark sauce and mashed potatoes. Next came the dessert, which was a cheese dessert unlike any I had ever tried before. Specifically, Essort served us a cheese mousse with mango sorbet – a unique combination, but it worked very well. The meal was completed with a strong coffee and friandises.
The restaurant is highly recommended. It is on the pricier side, which is understandable for this level of fine dining.
